Vote swapping was declared illegal and shut down in 2000 (when there were 16 different vote swapping websites in operation). A federal appeals court ruled in 2007 that vote swapping is NOT illegal but in fact a form of free speech protected by the First Amendment. People have swapped votes since then, without any legal challenges, in the US Presidential elections of 2016, 2020 and 2024. So you can safely swap your vote in 2026!

"What a relief! I no longer feel full of hopelessness, knowing that I would have to vote against my conscience because I need to be strategic. Now, I can do both. Thank you, from the bottom of my crushed and conflicted heart"
"I'm so excited to be able to do this! Thank you… I'm so glad that we're doing what we can to make our voices heard, while helping to keep Trump out of office."
"I voted this morning for Harris. You are in a safe blue state, so vote third party if that's what you feel. I completely understand...But whatever you decide, do go and vote today, and let us hope that the Orange Menace does not win."
"Thank you, THANK YOU!! I am so happy you are interested in swapping your vote with me…I hope that we are united in doing what we can to keep Trump out of office."
"Thank y’all so much for setting this up. I’ve been up at night trying to figure out what to do."
"I hate Trump and I think his second term would be a disaster, but I'm also really put off by Harris's extremely conservative campaign and embrace of people like Liz Cheney. I don't want Trump to win but I don't want Harris to take the left for granted. Please let me help you feel better about voting for her in your state!"
